This "Introduction to Acting" course used a variety
of fun and dynamic theatre and acting techniques to teach students how
to tap into their imagination. The course explored improvisation,
voice, character and movement and improved their communication and
performance skills. They had alot of F-U-N ! All children were granted roles for suitable skits,
and there were many who registered for this second session!
2nd set of classes began Monday June 22 2009 (ages 5-8) and
Wednesday June 24 2009 (ages 9-13), and final performances went off with
much applause and laughter at the end of August.
This was very successful. We had a full house
thanks for coming out to support our youth!

Children's Drama Instructor Nancy Gimblett worked with
children aged 5 - 14 for eight weeks using a variety of fun and
dynamic theatre and game/skits with acting techniques to teach students
how to tap into their imagination.
The weekly classes were only 2 dollars per child to cover incidentals.
Nancy, DCT President and veteran actor, is personally committed to
helping area youngsters grow strong in confidence and self-esteem by
exploring the basics of storytelling, public
speaking, diction and voice work, body language and mime, improvisation
and character work.
On Thursday March 5th 2009 they showed off what they have
learned to a public audience.
